Mark 8:27-30 New International Version

27 Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?” 28 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.” 29 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.” 30 Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him.

Who do you say he is? How do you relate to Jesus? Over the course of a lifetime, we form a way of looking at Jesus that is from our very own perspective. Whether we realize it or not, that image becomes the way we relate to him when we pray, when we read Scripture, when we think of him outside the church walls. Do you think of him as Savior to be emulated or Santa Claus to hear your wish list? Do you ever ponder the concept of the Holy Trinity or do you think of Jesus as simply the Son who lived as a man?

What matters is that you think about Jesus and what part he plays in your life. Find a version that you enjoy reading and read your Bible. Come to Pastor Joe’s Bible study on Sunday mornings at 9:30. Talk to others who believe. It isn’t a cliche. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ can change your life…something to pray about.
