Mark 5:18-20 New International Version
18 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. 19 Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” 20 So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.
Jesus changed the world. Jesus came into the world to illuminate a path that mankind could follow. Jesus suffered through this world in atonement for our sin so that we don’t have to wander through eternity alone. Jesus came into this world so that we could come to know the Father personally, Creator to creation, heart to heart. Jesus came into this world to save us.
Is it possible to know these things your whole life long, but not really get it? Do you wonder how I come to this conclusion? Because I lived 45 years without really getting it. I had heard it so many times, but I didn’t really know what it meant. Then, out of the blue, something kept tugging at me and I felt compelled to go to church for the first time in forever. That is when I finally learned. Jesus came into the world to change me. And you. And you. And you, too.
We cannot go it alone. Alone gets you lost. Jesus came so that you would know that you don’t ever have to be lost. You never have to be alone. Jesus did that for me. He did that for us all. He wants everyone to know it…something to pray about.
