2 Corinthians 9:10-12 New International Version

10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

Generosity is a matter of the heart, not the just the wallet. Open your heart to those in need and your own life will be enriched in ways you cannot imagine. The simplest gesture can start a ripple effect that will travel beyond your ability to see it and touch others in ways you never dreamed. That is God-power in action. You just have to put it into play. When you begin to think of yourself as a conduit of God’s love, you will begin to see more and more opportunities open up to act in ways that would be pleasing to him. You will also become more aware of opportunities lost or mishandled. All to “enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.”

If you claim to love Jesus, then you must act like it. How else will those who don’t know him come to understand what he is about? If you treat others with compassion, respect and dignity, then you have a chance to open a dialogue. If you act with kindness and generosity, then you have the opportunity to share the good things that have been placed in your power to share. You have the chance to be that conduit, that connection that shows what the love of God is about…something to pray about.
