1 Corinthians 15:58
“58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
Standing firm can be difficult when it feels like you are on shaky ground. It would be very easy to find yourself being pushed and pulled by the polarizing atmosphere of late. Speaking for myself, I don’t want to spend my time in resentment and frustration. That is not what we were meant to do. We must have a different agenda. We are told to stand firm.
Even in difficult times, we belong to God. Especially in difficult times, we must never forget that are his. We just can’t let go and start spiraling away. I keep hearing the word “focus” in my heart. We must focus our thoughts and our energy on those things that will nurture and comfort us and our community. By focusing on God and what he has in store for us, we can maintain our balance and our direction. Stand firm. With God to guide you, you cannot fall…something to pray about.
