Romans 16:25-27 New International Version

“25 Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, 26 but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith— 27 to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.”

It is the growing knowledge of God’s love for us, the revelation of God’s grace and mercy, that leads us to faith; but, it is Jesus Christ who makes it all possible. Jesus makes it possible for us to find our place in the Kingdom of Heaven. It was Jesus’ willingness to be faithful to his Father’s will that makes it possible for us to put our shortcomings behind us and be forgiven. It is the unending love of the Father and Son that makes our salvation real. Now is our chance to acknowledge this incredible gift by striving to be obedient. Christmas is the perfect time to remind ourselves  of this ultimate gift.

When I am judgmental, I must remember God’s mercy.  When I am self-absorbed, I must remember God’s magnanimity. When I am the least loving, I must remember God’s unending love. I must endeavor to be obedient as my meager way of expressing thanks to the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit for these gifts everyday…something to pray about.
